And the stars, too.

Pluto Express is on its way to rendezvous in July 2015.
But the NASA images from 1994 and 2004 indicate the atmosphere has already frozen out.
Enjoy the novel views. The “black holes” are just where there is no data.

Continuing the series of out-of-this-World views of eclipses.
This is an annular eclipse, where the Moon is so far away in it’s orbit it does not cover the Sun’s disk. Yet it leaves a distinct shadow racing across the Earth called an Antumbra. It also moves more slowly so the eclipse reaches the longest it can at over 11 minutes.
There are three main views:
Over Nairobi at dawn
Malé at noon and
Mandalay at dusk
The last looks down from the Sun at maximum and the ISS and Hubble Space Telescope have been added to give an idea of just how much the event has been slowed down to watch in only a couple of minutes.
New ways to see a total eclipse. Enjoy some 21st century art.
People often see faces in clouds, but a Bunny on Titan?
BLACK HOLE IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
Better contrasted image for the 2nd half of the eclipse.
BLACK HOLE IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
Though almost all this event happened over the ocean, some eyes watched from far above.
Knowledge of Mars increases with every satellite in orbit and on the surface.
Here are some earlier images which give an insight into the wide variety of the craters.
The final image is of a crater 85ºS.
Does it remind you of anyone?
Objects in space rarely look the same in different wavelengths.
Here 3C58 changes quite dramatically moving from soft to hard x-rays and in radio.
Overlaying the x-ray on to of the visible gives and idea of the different scales of the object.
Finally, putting them all together gives an ‘artists rendering’ idea of how it might appear if we could see all of those images at once.
